I realize that the teeming millions are very much concerned with the upcoming elections, but I was wondering if anyone had access to and/or listened to the Bob Dylan Mono recordings Boxset released last Tuesday (there is a 9-disc set and a single CD best of release)?
Also, any comments or thoughts on the release of the Witmark Demos (Volume 9 of the Bootleg Series)?
My friend has the mono set and likes it. He remarked that the listening experience is a little better than on the mono LP reissues he has. Mrs. Nonsuch has promised it to me for Christmas, but until then, I wait.
I acquired the Witmark demos a long time ago, and they are definitely worth hearing.
I used to have the Broadside Ballads when he sung as “Blindboy Grunt”. He sang songs like “John Brown” and “Masters of War”. But that got burned down by organized crime in a blind pig I used to live in .
Thanks for the post but after following your link in your subsequent posting I wasn’t sure which of the two recordings (Mono or Witmark) you were referring to in regards to the Broadside Ballads?
