A quick question for anyone to answer: how many yards to you add to the line of scrimmage to determine the length of a field goal attempt?
- 10 for the endzone and 7 for the snap.
Thankyou Nanook. I always forget the number of yards.
My only question is why is this thread titled BobT?
He said in an earlier thread that he answers obscure football questions. This question may not be all that obscure, but I thought I might get a fast answer from him by using his nick.
BobT answered the very first question I posed to the SDMB, long these many months ago.
But it wasn’t about football. It was about “Law and Order.”
BTW - sometimes you add 18 - on long FG attempts sometimes the holder lines up 8 yards back, since the kick will have a lower trajectory. Reduces chance of hitting the snapper in the ass.
