Carol it probably not as dire as you think.
First off they will probably fix it with no argument.
If for any reason they give you a hassle the state probably has a department of consumer affairs that looks into such complaints and the body shop may have a state license.
If all else fails there is always court.
Talk to them
Take pictures, and document
But talk to them. Nicely at first but know you are not waving an empty gun.
Since you have a warranty on the work I don’t think you have a thing to worry about. The damage you describe isn’t something that can be easily blamed on “user error”… assuming you didn’t leave the windows, moon roof, and trunk open when you parked it. They will likely be tripping over themselves to make it right.
Now, if you took it to Larry’s Discount Body and Bait it may be a different story, but much to the shock of many people not all mechanics and body shops are out to rip people off.
Agree. This shop came very highly recommended by the guy at another shop who fought with my insurance company to get them to pay for the hail damage. I mean, this guy at the first shop spent a good amount of time wrangling on my behalf and then saw no benefit to himself because he was retiring and couldn’t fix the car himself, anyway.
Well, back the car goes this week.
My car was repaired, and would go through new front tires in a couple thousand mile (down to the wire).
That was it for that body shop. For $120 (plus a small tip) new guy even fixed the brakes they also f’ed up.
