Body & Soul: Sweet Soul Love recommendations

There’s going to be a rent party in my basement- lovers only. I’ve got the black light and the Brass Monkey ready. Now all this party needs is some sweet soul to grind to. I think I’ll start with the inspiration for the OP Soul Generation’s That’s The Way It’s Got To Be (Body & Soul)

and follow it up with You Are Everything by the Stylistics.
I’m hoping for more Quiet Storm songs to fill up my playlist. Any suggestions?

I’ll start off by suggesting Voyage to Atlantis by the Isley Brothers. That song defines “Quiet Storm.”

And, to go really old school, here’s Isaac Hayes’ cover of Walk on By.

Of course, there’s the obvious choices of Marvin Gaye, Al Green, and Barry White but I’ll let other posters suggest the specific songs.

That got the Riunite on ice, it was so nice. Oh and how could I have not put Smokey’s Quiet Storm at the top of the play list?

Chi-Lites: Too Late to Turn Back Now

Strawberry Letter 23 - The Brothers Johnson(1 minute in) or the original by Shuggie Otis

But yeah - this is Marvin, the Reverend Al and Barry territory…

So far we’ve done a great job without mentioning the biggies. Here’s Bloodstone’s Natural High.

Wait, why isn’t anybody posting them? Al Greene How Do You Mend A Broken Heart

Am I the only one reading this thread in an Oliver “Ladykiller” Biscuit voice?

I’ve been listening to a lot of Solomon Burke lately –

Flesh and Blood
Tonight’s the Night
I Can’t Stop Loving You

(although my favorite Solomon Burke song is Uptight Good Woman [here sung by Spencer Wiggins], but I don’t know if that fits in with the vibe you want to set. :))

Prince - “Do Me Baby.” (Too obvious? )

I’m putting D’Angelo here 'cause well, damn!

I hear he turned into a fat crackhead. Shame.
