Body styles = psychics?

I glanced at an article in the local rag about a lady who helps people find their guardian angles. The TV produced the latest psychic scam hotline commercial. On the cable menu, the current psychic gives predictions and readings to call in actors.

I’ve noticed something. I seems most psychics on TV or in the news are white, often not exactly pretty, often over weight, and kind of ‘smug.’ Black people are jumping right into the scam now, with black psychics, also women, also mainly heavy and now with Jamaican accents. (I guess the Jamaican one’s are more profitable because of the history of magic/witchcraft/Voodo over there and because they are usually loud.)

There are, to my knowledge, no black male psychics and only two white male ones, both of whom are, shall we say, prissy.

The highest number is white, chunky, homely women.

Could there be some sort of a link here between body type and the commercial psychic? From there, a potential psychological one?

I wonder.

I think my guardian angle is a right angle, since I’m a pretty straight-up guy. I’ve known some stupid people whose angles are kind of obtuse, and I’ve met some pretty girls whose angles were really acute.

Dang, you got to it first!

In reply to the OP, it’s right, women seem to be the majority of psychics, especially large, unhandsome ones. That’s strange, but I don’t know anything about it.

I once had a friend w/ psychic abilities & she was very overweight. She had quite a zest for life–brave, adventurous, fun, and crazy and, boy, did that girl love food!

Don’t know of any connection between psychic ability & weight but obviously, their jobs don’t involve a lot of physical activity and they probably do more sitting than even, say, office workers who at least move to make copies, file, distribute, etc.

I don’t think it’s true that Jamaicans are usually loud. I had a Jamaican roommate my first year in college, and she was very quiet – as was our Jamaican RA. Most of their Jamaican friends were pretty quiet too. Admittedly they did make a fair amount of noise when they were having a party, but I think that’s true for most people regardless of nationality.

I’m still looking for my guardian angle. I dunno, I guess I’m just obtuse.

Friggin’ spelling police are everywhere CopperTears. You can be careful, or just do what I do and commit to being a terrible speller.

As far as body type, I’m not sure. But the few people I’ve met that actually had some form of clairvoyance (see I’m doing it now) had really long hair. I think hair might be in there for the truly psychically gifted individual.

The male Jamaicans I met were kind of normal, if you can call anyone with dusty Dreads normal, but not all of them wore that stuff. Most of the Jamaican women I met had a tendency to get real darn loud. Argumentative too!

I figure that 98% of the TV psychics are crap. I just noticed that the body styles of these crap spreaders all seem to fit within a certain range along with attitude. At first, when it all began to show up on TV, the majority were white. Now the majority are black. I guess the scammers forgot about them and are making up for it now.

Ever notice how, white or black, the ‘average people on the street’ they elect to talk to seem to have two things in common? Either they are mostly young, giggling girls or women who seem to live in or around low, low income areas.

Most phone calls in the advertisements and far too long infomercials are too well scripted to be real.

From what I understand, I read it somewhere, a real psychic is not supposed to use their gifts for personal monetary gain or power. That shoots down all TV psychics - but, then again, lately they’ve been shooting themselves in the foot anyhow. Nothing like ex-phone psychics getting on TV and telling how they had/have no psychic abilities.

That shoots down radio psychics, and those several real famous nationally syndicated ones.

However, I think psychics doing their work to make enough money to live on seems OK and I’ve run in to a few of them as well as some who don’t charge anything for their services and usually don’t announce their skills.

Still, it seems that the average psychic on TV is female, white, over weight, often with bags under their eyes and not exactly attractive.
