undefinedundefinedundefinedWhy do fresh yard eggs not peel well when they are boiled?
(Odd coding attempt?)
Store-bought eggs have had a chance for some of their water to evaporate through their shells. Fresh eggs are too tightly packed; there is no slack under the shell.
(Unless, of course, “yard eggs” are a euphemism for something else…)
If you put about a quarter cup of plain white vinegar in the water you boil the eggs in, the shells will be easier to peel. When the eggs have been boiled the proper amount of time, poor the hot water from the pan and put enough ice cubes and water over the eggs to quickly chill them - that helps, too!
