Great news from Afghanistan. I’m sure you’ve all seen the pictures, like the bombed out training camp. Well, what you didn’t know is, along with the destruction of the buildings, the BLUEPRINTS WERE ALSO DESTROYED! This is great, see, because now they can never rebuild them, right? Yeah. Can’t build a building without blueprints. NO MORE TRAINING CAMPS! Oh, and did you see those airport runways, you know, the ones with the big craters in them? Well, we got lucky there too, see, because what you didn’t know is that in Afghanistan, there is NO MORE CONCRETE. Yeah. See. You certainly can’t repair an airport runway without concrete, can you? Nah, of course not. NO MORE AIRPORTS! But the best news is those, nudge, nudge, “humanitarian aid packages”. What you didn’t know is that the food was secretly spiked with selective memory erasing agents. See. These make all Afghanis who eat them FORGET WHAT COUNTRY BOMBED THEM! Cool, huh? So now, see, not only can they not, say, rebuild the training camps (remember, no blueprints!), they wouldn’t know what country to attack even if they did so. And finally, a side benefit to the U.S. - What you might not know is, we are now making plans to bomb the Philippines, Syria, both Iraq and Iran, and Fredonia. If we’re lucky we could stretch this out indefinitely. Those bombs are expensive, you know, and a lot of people need jobs right now. Think of the boost to the economy!
I have a lovely dutch apple that I bought at a farm market. I also just brewed a carafe of espresso, though I don’t think notcynical should have any more caffeine.
Someone said it was incoherent, and that may be true. All I really wanted to say was you can’t get rid of terrorists by destroying their training camps. You have to get rid of their desire to build them. How do we do that? I do not profess to know the answer. Whoever solves that puzzle should get a million Nobel Peace Prizes.
Hey, notcynical. Sorry to shitpile on you, I’ve certainly been guilty of the freakishly garbled posting style you demonstrated myself. Early morning, no coffee, y’know.
I actually agree with you, to an extent. It just seems so fucking retarded, in the true sense of the word, that people still resolve issues by violence. The mental image I get of war is always the same, little kids kicking the shit out of each other in the sandbox.
My main question to you is, do you have a better solution? Somebody has to have a better solution than war or playing the victim.
grendel72, actually I was rather going for the “raving lunatic” effect in the OP, meaning to draw attention to the utter futility of trying to rid the world of terrorism in this way. But as I said earlier, I don’t have a solution. Note I didn’t say better, since I don’t consider this a solution at all. And all this talk of hitting other countries next is extremely troubling. I really don’t think we can ever rid the world of this scourge. And if not, does this mean we will be perpetually bombing some part of the world for the rest of our existence? Thanks for the thoughtful reply though.
