Bombs vs. earthquakes in causing cave in's.

I remember a thread not too long ago about the ability of bombs to cause earthquakes. Preposterous idea if you ask me.
It got me thinkin’, If bombs don’t do the trick in collapsing caves in Afghanistan, what would an earthquake do?
I mean, They say the big bombs really need to be dead on to do much damage underground, and that with all the redundancies built into the cave systems in A. the chances are pretty good that a cave IS a good place to hide.
what happens to a man-made cave/tunnel system in the proximity of a moderately good sized earthquake?

Caves can collapes for many reasons… A correctly placed bomb, a demolition charge, and earthquake, errosion, time…

Afghanistan has been subject to strong earthquakes for a long time. I suspect that with each earthquake, a few of the less stable caves collapse, but most of the caves there have withstood earthquake after earthquake, and are unlikely to collapse from this last temblor.
