Booking return ticket with added person?

One of my friends is planning a trip to Morocco on the 5th of July. He wants to spend a week there and then bring his parents back to London with him on the 14th of July.

After that, they’ll depart on the first of August.

Seems simple, but I was wondering what would the best way for him to book tickets be? Does he need to do it separately or can he do it together?

So he’s doing a round-trip from London to Morocco, and his parents are doing a round trip from Morocco to London? They overlap on the Morocco to London leg in the middle?

What would be the advantage of booking together? If they want to sit together, they can just check the availability of seats on the shared leg to make sure there are three together. Then whoever books first informs the others of their choice so they can pick adjacent ones.

I agree. This isn’t really a ticketing question at all. It is just two independent sets or round-trip tickets that might include them being on the same plane for one of the legs. There is no need to consider that as part of the same set of tickets because they aren’t.

If they really want to sit together during their (potentially) common flight, they will have to work that out with the airline but even that isn’t guaranteed unless you pay a whole lot of money for the tickets (completely unnecessary in my opinion).

When I fly into common destinations with my own far-flung family, we just get whatever tickets are best for each person or group and try to arrive and depart at roughly the same time. It usually doesn’t end up being on the same airline let alone the same plane.

Just buy the tickets for the same flight, and get in early to choose seats.

Well its usually cheaper to get a return ticket than to get two one ways. But maybe its no cheaper ? All you need to know is if you can buy the tickets for the same flight .
