I’ve just finished reading William Dean Howells’s The Rise of Silas Lapham, and in finishing it noticed that I liked every single character in that book – quite surprisingly. Lapham himself, all the Coreys, their distant relations, and even Rogers I could accept, for all his faults.
So, which books had no characters that you actively disliked? Mind you, you need not actually have liked them all…
