Bookshelf radio questions

A couple of years ago I saw a radio that looked very very very much like this one, except I am almost positive it was made by a different company. There were a couple of versions, and I think you could get at least one of those in either brown or black.

Am I going crazy or does anyone else know what brand that might have been?

Also, if you have either of these, what is your opinion on the quality?

I am possibly getting rid of a 20 year old rack system and I need to replace it with something. I know this doesn’t come close to the old stereo, but it would do in the meantime.

YES YES YES thank you so much. It was the Tivoli ones. I was racking my brain for so long on this one.

Do you know if they have a reputation for being good radios? I remember the reviews I read were glowing, but I think they may have been influenced by the looks of the thing :smiley:

Tivoli has good rep, looks and sounds solid, lasts a long time.

I bought a Sangean ATS909 from C. Crane 13 years ago. Probably overkill if you’re not into shortwave (and expensive!), but it’s a great radio.

Not so much into shortwave :), but it’s nice to know you are happy with the quality.
