And yet, murders happen in Australia at a comparable rate to that at which they occur here in the U.S.
So joggers need to carry guns, now?
If so – how? They have enough trouble hanging onto their keys, cell phone, & music thingy (iPod etc) so are you proposing … jogging holsters?
uh. Says here the rate for the US is 4.8 and Australia is 1. List of countries by intentional homicide rate - Wikipedia
Care to provide evidence for your assertion?
I’m pretty sure they had a gun they were waving around, but I don’t know if they were able to get ammo for it. At any rate, they ran the victim over with a car and then attacked him with knives as an act of Islamic terrorism. It’s bloodier with knives I guess.
The iGun 5a takes care of all that. Bluetooth connectivity, 32 Gb of media storage and 12 rounds of 9mm ammo. Just be careful which end you hold up to your head when you answer the phone: a few, uh, ergonomic issues have been reported.
Just my SWAG but I believe you’ve been whooshed.
You were whooshed, but to answer your question anyway, Texas Gov Rick Perry packs heat while running. Apparently it’s a question that does come up among the gun and fitness inclined.
Technically, you did that for him. All he said was that the murder rates were comparable, and you just compared them. QED
Sick fucks, but I heard on the radio that the older kid, who admitting firing the shot in open court, was granted $1 million bail but the other two were remanded without bail.
WTF?
I’m guessing he turned on the other two and cut a quick deal to avoid the death penalty.
I thought he was driving and the youngest kid pulled the trigger.
While this is not false, it’s worth pointing out that there’s nothing special about ‘these days’. Young people have been doing incredibly dumb things for the entirety of history. Every generation has been accused of being the stupidest, the laziest, and most disrespectful in history.
Heh heh heh! That was good.
IMNSHO, this is only a big news story because the victim was white.
Flame away.
Death Penalty doesn’t apply to minors.
He could have had a rocket launcher and it wouldn’t have helped him. He was shot in the back without warning.
OP returns. Still pissed off. Shot in the back - yes. I believe the preliminary legal stuff was try as adults - death penality applies.
Who provided the damn guns, why were the guns not locked up? Who’s responsible? We have laws and cases where Bar owner/bartenders are liable for sending drunks out who maim or kill others. Being a minor is a lot like being drunk (I’m invincible). People who have swimming pools are liable unless they have fences/locked gates.
Shit kids too. Bored? Get a job, learn an instrument, play sports, read, volunteer… hell go hunting feral pigs if you need to shoot; probably some landowners would be great with that.
What to do with them. Probably one or two will end up bawling their eyes out, maybe actual remorse. Give them the damn injection and let the big guy in the sky sort it out. No remorse - rot behind bars for life, no contacts, no noteriety.
Maybe I’ll feel better tomorrow, the Australian family sure won’t.
You are so fucking tiresome. You’re welcome.
Supreme court says you can’t execute minors even when they are tried as adults.
"the consequences.
These young men will spend most of the rest of their lives behind bars. The best years of their lives, where they should be working, going to school, dating, getting married, having kids, owning a house, seeing the world.
Because as of now, they get none of that. They just threw away all of those normal and good life experiences that they could have had, on a moment of terrifying stupidity.
They didn’t just destroy one man’s life, they destroyed their own as well."
Chimera, Ive known several men who spent their lives from late teen to 30-someting in prison, and you know what, they didn’t really know what they missed. They found a niche, whether junior tough guy, or protected FWB, and became part of the jailhouse ecology. Their lives weren’t over, just changed.
In fact, one of my acquaintances (he’s been in some sort of jail or prison since age 16) is just getting out this month; he’s 27 years old. He’s tough as nails, looks like a bodybuilder, covered with tattoos, and as psychopathic and charismatic as they come, a very dangerous guy.
Also, there’s definitely a part of the urban/ rap culture that idolizes thuggery and makes going to prison for murder into a sort of “rite-of-passage” for young men.
I know many of the bikers I hung out with when I was younger really didn’t consider you a “real” man unless you’d done hard time.
And risk falling off my high horse?
No thanks.
