In the '60 and '70 people held their ideals in high esteem and tried to live up to them. Those ideals were love, peace and equal justice for all, also poor people in less fortuned countries. And they don’t have television to distract their minds from their mindboggingly boring existence. I wish those times were upon us once more.

In the '60’s and '70’s, many of these ideals were sparked by the fact that television, which contrary to the OP’s belief was actually in wide use, beamed footage of the Viet Nam conflict into shocked American homes.

The war in Iraq didn’t solve the issue of Iraq’s illegitimate annexation of Kuwait? World War II didn’t solve the issue of Germany’s conquest of France, Poland, Belgium, Norway, the Netherlands, Denmark, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, a good sized chunk of the USSR, and perhaps some other places? The Vietnam War didn’t solve the issue of a divided Vietnam?

Where in Europe are you from? I’m from Ireland. In the 60’s and 70’s my people where blowing the living shit out of each other. The mainland was no “Land of Peace and Love” by any means. I couldn’t be arsed to go look for cites as I’m not even sure you serious. You sound like you hid a bit to much away from reality in the 60’s/70’s? Have you heard a certain little War in South East Asia around that time period? Riots in most European about the War/Race etc? A little bollocks by the name of Pol Pot?
