Awesome episode. It says something that they can keep making referential comments and it doesn’t take me out of the story. “New characters? That would have been in the season premiere!” Or something like that.
I liked the new attorneys. Who’s Claire? Where have we seen her before? I wouldn’t mind Clarence/Clarisse/Clavon as a recurring character.
The only thing I don’t get is – I don’t know quite how to say it – Shirley as a sex object. Candice Bergen is very attractive, but why does every guy on the show have to say they want to do her? We all know that middle-aged women have sex lives. The writers don’t need to keep reminding us. It’s patronizing.
I loved the scene with Alan and Denny talking about the dwarf, and she’s standing between them.
Great episode, much better than last week. Quite possibly because there was so much less Candice Bergen this week. I don’t really dislike her character when it’s on the screen so much as I always tend to notice how much better the show is when she isn’t.
The new attorneys were both pretty fun, though the whole Yankee cap thing was sort of silly. We’re going to need Craig Bierko to find his own space… right now he’s got a little bit of Brad in him, a little bit of Alan in him, and… what’s going to be the rest of it?
Followed by: “Cue the music”. Brilliant.
I really like Clarisse/Clarence, too. I hope s/he will be a recurring character. New lawyer girl is cute and much more interesting than, whatsherface that left last week. New lawyer guy - nah.
I want more balcony talk.
I liked the New Guy and Gal!! Maybe this will be a team of newbies that will stick. I certainly enjoyed New Guy’s quirky dialogue and goofy yet suave looking sideburns.
Brad Chase sure is a dork sometimes!

So I guess this judge murder case will be continuing for a few more eps. I wonder what that creepy neighbor Peeper’s connection is going to be…?
Anyone notice the number of former Star Trek actors in this show? Shatner/Kirk, Rene “Odo” Auberjois, and Armen “Quark” Shimmerman (as the murdered judge’s husband, also a judge). I keep waiting for Nimoy to show up in the waiting room one of these weeks!

Priceless! Shatner still has great comic delivery and timing. Actually, he’s even better at it now than he ever was.
I finally caught up with this on my DVR. Great episode!
I really like the new cast members. On their first episode, they’ve already carved out real characters for themselves. I look forward to every minute either of them are on screen. I wonder which cast members will lose screen time to fit them in? My guess is that Brad and Denise won’t be seen quite as much. And that’s okay with me. I like them both, but so far, I like the new ones better.
And now we have killer dwarves!
Thanks to IMDB, it finally dawns on me why the new female lawer was familar – she played the awesome ex-nun on Joan of Arcadia.
