Both of my parents have tested positive for Covid

It’s over. Dad is gone too.

Wow. I can’t imagine the loss. My thoughts and hugs to you…

I’m so sorry for your loss, Nars_Glinley.

Ohhh, no. I’m so sorry. You’re in my thoughts, Nars.

I’m so, so sorry, Nars.

StG

That’s awful. I’m so very sorry, Nars.

So sad. It’s awful when the universe uses you as a punching bag. My condolences.

I am so sorry for your losses. You will be in my thoughts.

I’m sorry. Strength to you and your family.

Oh, no. I’m so sorry for your loss.

Dang, I’m sorry.

Oh Nars, I’m so sorry. I’ve lost both of my parents in the past four and a half years, but I can hardly imagine what it’d be like to lose them both in the same week. Please be kind to yourself, and if possible, find someone who can help you make final arrangements so the weight of it doesn’t fall entirely on your shoulders.

I’m very sorry for your losses. {{{{Nars}}}}

Oh what a terrible blow. I’m so sorry for your loss and will keep you in my thoughts.

Oh Nars, what a devastating and surreal time for you. I am so, so sorry.

Mom’s obituary.

Shirley, 85, beloved Mother and Wife, was called to her eternal resting place on November 9, 2020. She entered this world on October 22, 1935 in Dewey Oklahoma, born to James and Ada. She is survived by her husband Gene of Grove, son Glenn and his wife Kathy of Tallahassee Florida, son Kevin and his wife Sheri of Elgin Oklahoma, son Stephen of Jay Oklahoma, granddaughter Chelsea and her husband Christian of Wichita Falls Texas, grandson Colby and his wife Lindsey and their daughter Pepper Anne of Tulsa. She was preceded in death by her son Gregory of Oklahoma City, parents James and Ada, her sister Eva Grace and her husband Lawrence, her sister Helen and her husband Glen, her sister Margie and her husband George, and her brother Billy Jim. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Shirley Lastname of Dewey Oklahoma and by many loving nieces and nephews. Yes, there were two Shirley Lastname’s in the family. Sometimes it got confusing.

Shirley was a graduate of Dewey High School. She married Gene on August 27, 1955. In 1960, she gave birth to the first of four sons whose only hobby was fighting. She ran the household on a shoestring budget while Gene completed his doctoral studies at the University of Oklahoma. Upon Gene’s graduation, the family moved to Sapulpa Oklahoma. It was the first of many moves before they eventually purchased a home in Tulsa. Upon Gene’s retiring from ORU, Gene and Shirley moved to Grove to allow them to be close to Shirley’s sisters.

Shirley loved being with her family, playing and listening to music, helping others, playing games, eating dessert, being blunt, and Oklahoma football but not necessarily in that order.

Shirley served in the Cornerstone Church in Grove Oklahoma. A memorial service will be held at Cornerstone in Grove on November 16th at 10AM. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Gideons International, the Delaware County Friendship Home in Jay Oklahoma, or to anyone that needs it.

ETA: Due to Dad’s passing, the service has been postponed and there will be a joint service. I don’t believe any of the family will be there.

Words are so pitifully inadequate at times like this.

But know that we’re here for you and for your family.

Oh no. That is a shattering blow. Take care of yourself, Nars, inasmuch as you’re able. All of our thoughts are with you.

i am so very sorry. may your father’s memory be eternal.

I can’t begin to imagine the grief you must be feeling to lose both parents so quickly. I’m so sorry.
