Damn, this game moved fast when I was away from the boards. For completeness, the people in my IQs were Sebastian Shaw (Anakin Skywalker in Return of the Jedi), Steve Howe, and Zac Starkey (through Alan White). I don’t have anything else to offer right now, but figured I should at least come clean on my questions.
Previous IQs:
Were you captain of the NSEA Protector? - Peter Quincy Taggart in Galaxy Quest.
Were you “the Rock of Chickamauga”? - George Henry Thomas, from the Civil War.
Were you an early American diplomat to Paris? - Yes, Thomas Jefferson.
Hmmm. Stumped as to who this person is.
DQ:
Philosopher/thinker?
IQ:
Did you climb Mt. Everest with just one other person?
I already got a DQ for Sir Terry…
DQ: Known for science?
One DQ reserved.
Thanks for stopping by, glowacks! Come back and play when you get the time.

Not one of these Tims: Cook, Duncan, or McGraw.
Gah … don’t know this guy’s name … but you won’t need the DQ you’ve gotten.
Yes … yes I did
With Edmund Hillary in 1953. We were the first two up there, as a matter of fact.
I am … Tenzing Norgay.
I like how you posted this, and then nailed the answer two sentences later in the same post ![]()
Very good job, EH! I’ve heard of the guy but would never have come up with him.
Thich Quang Duc was the famously photographed immolated monk.
This was actually a tricky DQ for Tenzing Norgay. His place of birth is not definitively known – it’s either in NE Nepal or just across the border in Tibet. Luckily, most of Tibet and all of Nepal is closer to the equator than Baghdad, which I didn’t know strictly from memory.
Thanks, all! And a good mystery person, bordelond.
Yeah, I’m pretty impressive that way. Heheheheh.
Our next person, naturally, is a
U
Now that I think about it, U is actually a pretty difficult letter for this game…
