Our next letter is

G.

Go for it!

IQ1: Do you have a thing for a large Asian city?
IQ2: Were you a well known hoofer?
IQ3: Were you a presidential candidate on the Surprise Party ticket?

IQ: Are the subject of medieval legend?

IQ1: Did you and your friends tell us about crossing the Mersey River in a ferryboat?

IQ2: Did you play a character who had two excellent friends?

IQ3: Do you have friends in low places?

I’m not Zach Galifanakis (sp?) from The Hangover 2, Ginger Rogers or… Arthur Godfrey?

I’m not Grendel.

Dunno about the first, but I’m neither George Carlin from Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, nor Garth Brooks. Take a DQ.

I actually was going for Gilgamesh.

DQ: Are you living?

Nada to all three - Godzilla, Gregory Hines, Gracie Allen

IQ1: Are you male
IQ2: Are you best known for your contribtion to The Arts?
IQ3: Are you American?

Correct on Carlin and Brooks. The first was Gerry Marsden, of Gerry and the Pacemakers, who had a hit with “Ferry Cross the Mersey.”

DQ: Does G start your first name?

Guys, I don’t think you’re doing this right. Grendel is the subject of a medieval legend, and Ginger Rogers was a well-known hoofer. You have to ask IQs with someone in mind, but if EH comes up with somebody else who’s a valid answer you don’t get the DQ.

IQ1: Are you a flamboyant character from the golden age of professional wrestling?
IQ2: Did MLB respond to your most dominating season by lowering the pitcher’s mound?
IQ3: Are you an intense and idiosyncratic New York detective?

Sorry. I keep messing up the game. :smack:

IQ: Did you run for the GOP nomination this year, and not get far?

Correct. Thanks.

Zach Galifanakis is, I believe, also a valid answer to MissTake’s first IQ, so she has earned one DQ. Shall I answer your “male?” question?

I’m not Gorgeous George, Charles Gibson or George Kojak.

I’m not Newt Gingrich.

G.

  1. First name begins with G

IQ: Did you win the WSOP Main Event in 2004?

IQ1: After a bunch of bad luck, is one bourbon, one scotch, and one beer all you’re looking for?

IQ2: Did you look after Jo, Tootie, Natalie, and Blair?

IQ3: Did you introduce two freshmen to Mohammet, Jugdish, Sidney, and Clayton?

Right on Gorgeous George. The dominant pitcher was Bob Gibson (interestingly enough, baseball-reference.com doesn’t have a record of any MLB player named Charles Gibson), and Kojak’s first name was Theo - I was shooting for Robert Goren of the Law and Order franchise.

DQ1: Are you a real person?
DQ2: (assuming MissTake will go with the gender question) Are you American?

Dunno. Take a DQ.

I’m not George Thorogood, dunno about the second, and I’m not Greg Marmalard (great name from a great movie!). Take a DQ.

G.

  1. First name begins with G
  2. Real
  3. American

DQ: Were you a political figure?

The WSOP champ was Greg Raymer, BTW.

Correct on Thorogood and Marmalard. The second was Edna Garrett, the housemother on “The Facts of Life” TV show.

DQ: Are you known for your contribution to the arts?

IQ1: Did you play the helmsman of the USS Enterprise?

IQ2: In 2001, did you reprise Frank Sinatra’s role in a 1960 movie?

IQ3: Were you nominated for an Oscar for your role in The Buddy Holly Story?

Not George Takei or George Clooney. Dunno the third.
