Brainstorming: What would be the most useful last DQ to ask? Anyone have any ideas who this might be? I’m thinking baseball or tennis, given the rivalry of question 15.

Anyone?

Oh, OK.

What’s the endgame once we hit 20? Anybody who’s gotten a DQ this round gets one guess?

Exactly, in the format “Are you [firstname lastname]?”

Brainstorming, anyone? No one springs to mind who fits all of our DQ answers.

OK, I think it’s time to call this. The answer is:

Hall of famer Nap Lajoie, who was Ty Cobb’s toughest rival and one of the best second basemen to ever play the game.

Participation’s been flagging in these threads for a while, so I’m not going to start another one right now. Anybody who’s interested in restarting it is more than welcome to go for it - the letters we’ve used so far are here.

I’ve heard of Lajoie! You’re right, Cobb was a world-class prick!

I’d heard of Lajoie as an early baseball player, but didn’t know of his rivalry with Cobb.

etv78, I started the previous round. Would you like to start a separate Sept. thread?

I can honestly say that I never would have got Lajoie, as I’ve never heard of him. I have heard of Ty Cobb however, and agree that he was a prick.
