Botticelli August 2022

Five and a half hours…

You got me.

I keep coming back to a Tarzan character. Tarzan (Lord Greystone) is British, Burroughs was American. Definitely some fantasy elements to Tarzan. There was another movie about 5 years ago. Some one that was in the books, but not the movies? Can’t think of a K name though.

A vampire, maybe?

I know SCA likes Tarzan, but it’s not Lord Greystoke’s parents, and I’ve only read the first book. So, maybe.

I’m not coming up with anyone out of Jack London, Ernest Hemingway, Mark Twain, William Faulkner, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Sinclair Lewis or L. Frank Baum (&c.) who fits. I dunno.

Chock had the right idea:

I am the Honourable John Clayton III, son of the Right Honourable The Viscount Greystoke, and am also known as Korak the Killer.

I’m unfamiliar with him.

Waiting for reactions from the others…

I am not so familiar with Tarzan as to remember the name of his son, if I have encountered it before.

Never heard of him myself.

I have vague memories of seeing a “Son of Tarzan” comic in the 70s. I don’t know if it was actually based on Burroughs, and I didn’t know the character’s name.

What Chock just said reminded me: I did have Korak, Son of Tarzan comics as a teenager. I just wasn’t thinking of comic books.

Play on, SCA!

Wiki on Korak. “Could be alive today, if real (though not normally)” refers to Tarzan’s Quest, the 19th book. Korak was born before WW I, but in that book Tarzan acquires pills which grant immortality, or at least a greatly extended lifespan, and shares them out amongst his family – including Nkima, the monkey, who played an important part in the book.
