Did record some county-western material, but that’s not the genre most associated with.

I should amend my previous rock answer similarly. Did record some doo-wop and worked with Elvis, but not best known for rock.

IQ: Did your biggest hit chart the week after you perished in a plane crash?

Yes, I’m quite baffled myself. I’m taking the combination of ‘Actor, among other talents’ and 'not best known for movie roles to mean that he must have appeared in some films, however minor a role he may have played in however minor a film. Otherwise, with no film, tv or stage, where does the acting come in?

It may be a gross assumption to make that this is a singer best known to us through recordings (‘Not noted for stage appearances’ doesn’t necessarily eliminate concerts…) but despite ‘some’ country and ‘some’ doo-wop/Elvis work, we don’t know which genre we should know this person for.

Hmm. Anyone have any ideas?

DQ for you. The only 'R’s killed in a plane crash I can think of are Ritchie Valens and Ronnie Van Zant, who both had their biggest hits while still alive.

DQ: Is your music still heard on the radio?

(I was thinking Redding, though it was probably a car wreck)
