IQ: Have you ever collaborated with Yip Harburg on a Broadway musical?

IQ: Do you co-write your songs with your more flamboyant partner?

No, not Bernie Taupin.

IQ: Are you a co-discoverer of insulin?

We only have one DQ left, sportsfans. I confess I can’t think of anyone who fits all 19 of the answered DQs so far.

IQ: Did you start out with your school chum Steve Miller?

Once again, I didn’t mean this to be a huge challenge.

Since we’re near the end, I’ll add a few clues:

  1. I started out as a classical violinist and composer, thought of myself as a country artist, but am best remembered for writing rock and roll.

  2. Six of my songs are in heavy rotation on “oldies” radio, one of my songs is in heavy rotation on “classic rock” radio, and one of my songs gets played by a marching band after touchdowns.

Was your big hit on the “Back to the Future” soundtrack?

Not Chuck Berry (but you’re in the right era)

Nope.

IQ: were you sometimes known as the “fifth Beatle” towards the end of their run?
