Would it help if I said that it’s the National Radio Hall of Fame?
It should… but it doesn’t. Still thinking.
IQ: Are many of his “facts” disproven by snopes.com?
Googling snopes + “[my name]” yields no evidence, so DQ.
Going for Paul Harvey
DQ: From East of the Mississippi R.?
Could this be… the REST of the story?
Cite, please?
Totally stumped, I yield.
…waiting for the cite, I presume?
So, SCADian, is it he? Looks like it fits.
Sorry - real life got in the way there. (Yes, I know - of all the nerve!!)
Yes, it was Paul Harvey, though I object strenuously to the use of a question that doesn’t fit.
I see your point, but etv78 did have someone specific in mind, and revealed who. Harvey was noted for his occasional spreading of falsehoods/urban legends IIRC.
etv, want to start a July thread?
The new thread is up at this link.
It’s a difficult corner, these radio personalities. The same would go for Ira Glass, Jad Abumrad, Robert Krulwich - they’re almost writers, they’re best known for their work in radio, they’re not exactly actors, but what are they? I’m not sure what the answer is there, other than to say every good filing system has to have a ‘miscellaneous’.
And I have no idea what (if any) DQ/answer would have got me any closer to Paul Harvey, so please don’t get the impression that I’m laying blame.
