Hmm. Not coming up with anyone. I yield my DQ to whoever’d like to ask it.
We couldn’t even nail down the mystery guest’s field of occupation. All we got is sometimes Arts, sometimes sports-related stuff, which could mean he threw out the first pitch for baseball games for all we know.
My best guess is Garo Yepremian, but that’s not it.

And a clue (or clew, if you prefer): The word that, by house rules, is considered to be my “last name” is actually my first name, and the ‘G’ word that by house rules is my “first name” is actually a nickname. (Think Lemonade Lucy, Dirty Harry, or Stormin’ Norman…)
Awaiting your “Firstname Lastname” DQs – think Friday morning will be enough time?
“Lawyer or judge”?
I was trying to cover every base I could. Well, it’s not the Galloping Gourmet. Hmm…
I submit. All I can think of is The Great Gatsby and can’t get past it.
I won’t be surprised if no one comes up with the correct answer, but I will be extremely surprised if it turns out none of you have heard of him.
Yes, but for now I’m still drawing a blank.
I unsubmit.
Are you Gorgeous George?
I am not.
All I’ve got so far is “Gentleman Jim” Corbett, and it can’t be him.
Still pondering.
Wildass guess: Are you the Galloping Gourmet?
I am not.
No bells. I give up.
Spoiler included for last-second guesses.
I became involved in Scouting when I was a boy in Denmark, and continued after coming to the US. I wrote the first three editions of the Patrol Leader’s Handbook, as well as three editions of the Boy Scout Handbook. My name was originally Vilhelm Jensen, but I changed it to William Hillcourt soon after settling in the States, and I was better known to several generations of Boy Scouts as Green Bar Bill.
Well, I was never a Boy Scout, and I don’t believe I’ve heard of Green Bar Bill.
I have, and as an old Scout should’ve guessed him. Huh - didn’t know he was foreign-born. Nice one, SCAdian!
I wasn’t a boy scout either. They kicked me out for eating too many brownies. (I keed, I keed)
