Greatest fame after 1975?
Two DQs reserved (unless you want to cut the round off once we reach 20 DQs, Prof. P.).
Thought for sure this was going to be some Soviet dancer who defected, but now I see it’s not a dancer. So… a dead, European-born male, naturalized U.S. citizen, known for the performing arts, last name starts with W, with greatest fame after 1950. Not an actor, musician, writer, artist or dancer.
Hmm. An impresario of some kind…?
DQs:
And that is 20. Everyone who received a DQ gets one in the form of “Are you FirstName LastName?”, as usual.
“Wash” Washburn
Types of performance artist we didn’t cover include magicians, circus performers, and comedians who aren’t actors. Dead stand-up comic from Germany? Can’t think of any.
Ooo! Ooo! Thanks, Knowed Out.
Are you Kurt Wallenda?
Dammit, I just now thought of Wallenda. He walked the Tallulah Gorge in Georgia when I was a kid, about 10 miles from where I grew up. They have the costume he wore in a little museum next to the Gorge. Grats EH.
Yes, I am Kurt Wallenda, father and founder of the Flying Wallendas! Good job, EH! Good assist, KO!
Thanks! Just popped into my head. I see he was actually named Karl, though: Karl Wallenda - Wikipedia
KO, if you’d like to do the next round, you’re welcome to it.
…phooey. I knew it was Karl, it just came out Kurt… oh, well
I was going to correct you, but I remembered he had family members with the same surname, and maybe some of them could be more famous in other parts of the world. I overthink things sometimes.
Go ahead EH. Timing is part of the game.
Drat! I’ve actually considered using Wallenda a few times…
OK, many thanks, KO. I’ll start a new round tomorrow.
It’s been awhile since we’ve done
