Well done, Elendil’s Heir!
Thanks. He just popped into my mind when I reviewed all of the DQ answers again. We actually know some LeMays at our church - distant cousins of the late Air Force general. That was fun, Enginerd - good one!
Let’s take a little break. I’ll start the next round in a few days.
Will it be a new thread, or start here?
Here. The new letter is
O.
IQ: Were you you a WWII general whose career lasted well into the Cold War era?

IQ2: Did Donald Sutherland play you in a 1970 Clint Eastwood film?
IQ3: Are you a henchman with a very dangerous hat?
IQ: Were you the subject of 2 Greek epics?

IQ2: Were you a defenseman for the Boston Bruins in the 1970-71 season?

#1. is O’Reilly, the cowboy builder who almost destroys Fawlty Towers in the episode ‘The Builders’. (If his first name is ever mentioned, I don’t remember it.)
#2. is Flannery O’Connor.
#3. is Patrick O’Brien, best known for the Aubery/Maturin series of sea-faring novels, but who also wrote a biography of Sir Joseph Banks, the naturalist who is clearly an inspiration for the character of Stephen Maturin. He was a neighbour of Pablo Picasso’s, and published a biography of the painter in the early '90s.

DQ#2: Are you renowned for your accomplishments in The Arts, broadly defined?
DQ#3: Is ‘O’ the initial of your last name?
Not Oscar Meyer, dunno the Bruins guy, and I forget the name of Capt. Robert Falcon Scott’s companion who said that as he stepped out of the tent to his doom. Take two DQs.
