Damn - you know what? I looked up the actual rules, and it seems I’ve been cheating! (And my hunch was WAY off.) Sorry all - I’ll bow out.
Her gold medals were as an American, and she has no PED ties.

DQ:
Does her last name begin “De-”?
Nope, her last name does not start “De-”.
I’ll give a hint: You’re all making an assumption that is untrue.
Hmmm. Can’t think what that might be.
Well, we have one DQ earned but not asked. Anyone want to use it? Then we can all ask our “Are you [firstname lastname]?” questions and end the round.
I give up. Might as well just tell us, etv.
Jeanne Driscoll, the Paralympian marathoner. The assumption you all made: able-bodied.
I have never heard of Jeanne Driscoll, so I learned something new today.
Never heard of her - she has no Wiki page - and I don’t think the Paralympics are the Olympics.
Try Jean Driscoll - she’s listed. Paralympians are Olympians, they just don’t get all the air time as ablebodied Olympians.
She’s so well-known the OP misspelled her name?
Sorry. It’s late. I’m tired.
It’s Okay. My ignorance fought on the spelling. :o (My defense-my aunt spells it Jeanne)
A very interesting choice. To me, Olympic athletes and Paralympic athletes are two different things, but if you’d said she wasn’t an Olympic athlete, I don’t think I would have got to Paralympic without having exhausted every other athletic endeavour down to Parkour, Cricket and Lacrosse. Quite a challenge that reveals much about my preconceptions.
On to the next round? Let’s go!!
Since I stumped you all, is it still my turn?
I guess it is. Nobody got it–carry on with the next one.
DQ answer #10 was “Olympian,” not “Paralympian.” Anyway.
Since it’s almost October, etv, you might want to wait until Mon. to start the next thread.
