Bought new Kindle Fire HDX 8.9

And first thing I did was put a full body case on it. The case has a built in screen protector, so no need for a separate screen protector. But then it occurred to me…was there a plastic film that was on the screen to prevent smudges and which you remove upon use? So I need to know if there was one. The screen looked clear and I don’t remember seeing any sort of tab indicating that there was a protective film on the screen. If there isn’t a film, then that’s great because I prefer not opening the case. Putting it on the Kindle was somewhat a chore in itself. But now I’m wondering if there was a protective film on the new Kindle. Btw. This is the latest 8.9.

If a protective film is in place and is not affecting the operation I would just leave it be.
