That said, I liked her music, but this seems a bit much. Let the woman’s family have a funeral in peace.

I’m baffled at the media frenzy over Whitney. Her career pretty much fizzled out after The Bodyguard in 1991. She had three great cd’s in the 80’s. I listen to them once in awhile.
Since 1991 she’s mostly been known for her personal problems. She just isn’t/wasn’t a big star anymore. I can’t understand the media interest. I won’t even try and watch tv today. It’ll be Whitney on every channel.
I have no idea why my TV was on Bounce (I think another station must have broadcasted the funeral), but I turned it on just as Kevin Costner was beginning his eulogy, and I have to say it was absolutely beautiful. Well played, ,Mr. Costner.
Her funeral was apparently carried on several stations. I saw it on E! and CNN at least.
Agreed that Kevin Costner’s eulogy was terrific.
I saw the program for the funeral on TMZ (hey–I have to check TMZ for work!) and they have people listed as giving “Remarks by Ricky Minor,” “Expressions by Kevin Costner,” “Expressions by Ray Watson,” “Remarks by Patricia Houston.”
Remarks? Expressions? Did Kevin and Ray just get up and make faces?
