Box Seating at a Basketball Game

So I just got two tickets for “box seats” at a game in the Staples Center. But, admittedly, I’ve never been to a basketball game and I’ve never been to a sport game where I haven “box seats.” I don’t think I’ve even heard of the term before.

Anyone have an idea what they are? Seems like it’s some sort of private booth but, like I said, I have no clue.

Any info would be welcomed.

Here’s a start.

Private booths are usually “suites” or “club level,” though that’s based on my knowledge of northern California baseball, not southern California basketball.

“Box seats” is a baseball term - I’ve never heard it used for basketball before. The best seats in basketball are “Courtside seats”.

It sounds like you might have seats in a private suite, which are very cool, but they aren’t the best seats in the house by any stretch.

Private suites are awesome, unless they’re for a corporate event and everyone is trying to suck up to the boss.

I’ve never heard of box seats for basketball either.

Here is a seating map of the Staples center.

I’ve been there and I liked the facility itself. Parking was difficult, expensive, and it didn’t seem safe.

I was just in a “box seat” for a basketball game (in the Pepsi Center in Denver) and Lamar is right, they are private suites. I agree that they are not the best seats in the house. I have sat on the floor before, and it is like watching a whole different game.

That said, private suites kick total ass. The seats are comfortable, we had the whole thing to ourselves, and the catering package (including beer) is super-nice. Plus, they bring you detailed stats of the game every quarter! All in all, if I has to decide between seats on the floor, and a box to myself for a season, if they were the same price, I would have a hard time deciding which to choose.

However, they are not the same price. :frowning: I just checked the prices for the Nuggets, and they are asking $125K-$265K per year. That includes 12 seats, but does not include the catering.

Courtside seats for the Lakers are $2200 per seat, per game. That’s $90K per seat, so it’s not that much of a difference.

Nuggets seats != Lakers seats as far as price is concerned. I can’t find a price for floor seats for the Nuggets, but Row A, Prime Loge seats are only $130 game/$5800 year. I find various craigslist entries for floor seats for ~$300.

The Lakers do not list their luxury suite prices on their website that I can find, but I would expect that they are not as cheap as $250K.

ETA: Found coutside ticket prices for Nuggets: $20K per seat for the season. So, maybe a box is comparably priced, if you would otherwise buy courtside tix for 12.

The box seats are the suites. Private area, usually catering, beverages, private bathroom…in short suites are sweet! Enjoy the game!

So I went to the game and it was awesome! We went up to our level via an elevator. The suite was locked and your ticket is the key. Our suite had leather seats, a sofa, bar stools and even a T.V. It’s definitely the way to watch a sports game.

It turns out Clippers and the Kings are the two worst teams in the NBA at the moment but it was still fun to watch.
