I would love to do that kind of work as a career. But I figured I’d have to pay all kinds of dues doing ads for Kraft and Verizon. Plus, I don’t want to live in a major metropolitan area… 
So, anyone know voiceactors that get to do this cool stuff and NOT live in California???
There’s a large group of voice actors working out of Vancouver, BC for some reason. Dunno if that’s much of an improvement in the “major metropolitain area” category, though.
Also, once you reach a certain level, you can build a home studio and produce your own work. My ex-wife’s current husband is a major voice actor and he lives where he wants. He produces his own work and sends it over the broadband. Neat work if you can get it! (And yes, I have to listen to his dulcet tones every time I turn on the TV. {{{{shudder}}}})
