Boycott Pasadena

Stop it! Cuz… you know… you’re making me laugh inappropriately.

As long as you don’t contribute to the city coffers by getting a ticket, I should think that’s acceptable.

Yea! If the Man tries to pull you over, just step on it until you’re out of town!!! It always works in the movies, so I see no possible downside if you try it IRL.

No possible downside to me, anyway. And maybe, just maybe, I’ll get to see the whole thing play out on America’s Somethingest Police Chases!

Run for your life! Giant Japanese radioactive Giraffe-Monster heading straight for Pasadena!

…no need to let Pasadena know, of course. We’ll just keep it under our hats.

That’s my new favorite word.

“How was the chicken, dear?”
“Fine, honey, but the potatoes were a little douchey.”

Where in the OP did you assume that he was even at the signal?

FAYK, he might have decided to whip a U in between signal lights from the center lane, or over some double yellows. That would also qualify as “improperly positioned”, IMHO.

Constantine…need more info in order to share your outrage.

Pasadena has Vroman’s. IMO, that makes it worth the trip.

The Huntington is in San Marino, technically…

Considering that so many drivers treat the left turn lane as optional, I may have to spend more time in Pasadena in thanks.

I would, however, be glad to boycott the 10.

The Minnesota Gophers have been boycotting Pasadena for years!

Came up to red light. Waited till it turned green. No left turn signal, just a green light. As far as I could tell I was in the left hand lane: lane markers on the road were not clear. In any case, officer did not say I was in the wrong lane, just that I was not far enough over to the left when I made the left turn.

Feel free to be outraged or not as the mood strikes you. In any case, many many people in the world suffered far more serious outrages that day (and every day) than I suffered. I’m not asking any body to sign a petition, just informing the world at large that (1) I think this was a stupid, “make my quota” ticket, and (2) that I’m going to vote with my feet and not go back there, not spend money with businesses there, etc., and pass the message along.

Unless the officer already looked like his head was going to explode when he stopped you, I would have courteously asked him exactly what was wrong about the way I made the turn. At least I might have learned something, if only about his astigmatism.

Hehe…'cuz people always get away in car cashes in LA. Ask OJ! :stuck_out_tongue:

And I somehow mangled a one line post. I give up.

Now, that was PDF! (Pretty Damn Funny)
OK, Constantine…thanks for the clarification. My outrage meter just went from 2 to 3. The nerve of that Officer Quota!

Are you trying to tell me that there are Factual Errors??? On the Internet???
I believe you just gave me the vapors.

That reminds me, I’m flying to Burbank next week to see some friends and one thing I’m really looking forward to is meeting them for lunch in Pasadena. Thanks!

I’m thinking the Green Street Restraurant, or maybe Delacy’s Club 41.

constantine, do you remember what street you were on?

BTW, you can probably get some high profile support for your plans…this famous Icelandic citizen also dislikes Pasadena.

What’s more, I will not take your wife, please. I am currently seeing somebody and as such have no need to take your wife.

I’ve been boycotting Stinkadena for years now. Back when I lived behind Bayshore Hospital I could literally smell the wind’s direction (paper mill, chemical plant, landfill). Cold fronts always smelled of paper mill.
Never been to California, though, so I got that one covered already.

Deciever!!!
Outcast!!! Unclean!!!
