From the SciFi Wire news item:
Ding Dong, the Witch is dead!
That’s the first smart thing he’s done in 15 years. Now if can just convince his partner in crime to go along with him.
Well, at least he waited until the serieses (seres? serii) were over before giving up. :dubious:
(And there was much rejoicing.)
Good news on two fronts – as I’ve said many times, Braga is IMO a good sci-fi writer who cannot write good Trek. I’m quite enjoying his Threshold, and many of the Trek episodes he penned were great but could have been set on any other spaceship in any other sci-fi universe unlike stuff written by, say, Ron Moore.

Does Braga have legal ownership of the franchise? If he’s done with it, does that mean no one can do anything with it? Surely there’s a talented and interesting writer/director out there somewhere who could do something fun with the franchise in a couple years.
WOOOOOO-Frelling-HOOOOOOOO!
So much for the witch of the East, now about that wicked witch of the west.
Paramount is the legal owner. They can retain Berman, they can rehire Braga, they can fire both or either and extend an offer to somebody else, like J.M. Straczinski or Uwe Boll if they wanted. Or me. Hint hint.
