Brain Echoing. Heard of it?

So my local news station just did a rather long story about this new healing technique for the brain.

A couple of people claim to have benefitted from the treatment, but I gotta say, it just sounds like bunk to me.

They record your brain and then turn it into music, which you then listen to. And then your brain begins to heal.

So, anybody heard of this? Anybody ever done it? Am I wrong and this is a really great thing?

What do you all think?

What does it claim to heal? Tumors? Alzheimer’s Disease? Gunshot wounds? Then yeah, it’s bullshit.

If it claims to help depression or something, it might make you feel better for a little while. But any music you like can do that…for a little while.

Idiotic nutty crackpot scam nonsense that is not even wrong.

BTW, a “news” (and I use that term incredibly loosely) site has a video about this up, and provides this transcript (spoilered for lenght) I have not watched the video, but I like to imagine it as being a 100 percent match to the transcript:

I especially like this passage:

“Our brains are an amazingly complex out of our bodies. Clinics owner says one-times people can use help to heal from the traumas and stresses of life. When a brain is tightly packed and it has had a lot traumas, is bad. It is like bud. When it starts feeling, tha bud opens up as flower.”

I certainly don’t want to hear the cacophony that will emerge from my noisy brain.

Total nonsense!

I mean, I know some people use music to help with their anxiety, but that’s music that they find inspirational, or they find relaxing or whatever. “Brainwave” music doesn’t sound like it’s either of those. At best, a poor substitution.

Right!? The very thought scares me silly! I was surprised to see this on my news show though. They were sure treating it serious.

**Brain Echoing. Heard of it?
**

Would you mind telling us what news station reported this, and what their take on it was(“What a load of horseshit!” vs. "Ain’t science wonderful!)?

I had this done. Imagine my surprise when I got the CD, put it in the player and heard “Comfortably Numb”…

It was on KCRA here in the Sacramento area. They seemed approving of the idea, or at least that is the impression they left me with. I can’t remember seeing them do a story like it before. But that’s probably due to my inattention in times past.

Ludovic, I appreciate your contribution. I laughed.
