If it’s a USB mouse like most people like to use with a laptop. then the SUB link is bad. Try plugging and unplugging. You probably tried that already too. If it’s not a USB mouse, find one and try it to see if it works.
If the failed mouse is the mouse pad, then this is totally different. You may indeed have a hardware failure covered by warranty. If you left the laptop running while sitting on a bed, it may have overheated because the air vents are on the bottom. I extended the legs on mine to give it more air. The system should have protected itself and shut down, but who knows.
