Brand name products

What brand name products do you absolutely have to have?

For me:
Heinz ketchup
Charmin bath tissue - despite those stupid bears!

I’m sure I had more when I thought about posting this thread this morning! I’ll add more later.

What about you?

Agree with the Heinz.
Tide or Gain liquid laundry detergent.
Edy’s Gourmet Ice Cream
Frozen White Castles Cheeseburgers (not those nasty Crystal thingies)

Breyer’s Ice Cream
Dawn dish washing liquid
Victoria’s Secret jeans
Carlos Santana shoes
IFC or Sundance movie channels

Bounty paper towels
Kraft extra sharp cheddar cheese
Kraft “Real” mayonnaise
Folger’s coffee

There are some local brands (Purity dairy products) and even a few items with Kroger (store) brand that I will insist on, but as I think about the basic question, there aren’t all that many items where I demand a particular brand. That said, there are some specific brands I’ll look for in each product. Take frozen dinners as an example:

Stouffer on some items
Healthy Choice on some others
Banquet on a few others
(As a general rule I don’t buy Swanson or Lean Cuisine, but I don’t have a good reason for that. Just habit, I suppose.)

Kroger (brand) is the only eggnog I will buy.

Secret deodorant. I even have my husband wear it! The strong smell of men’s deodorants are too harsh for my nose.

Neutrogena hand lotion
Doritos nacho chips–no imitator comes close!
Dawn dish soap

You know, I can’t think of a single item about which I’m particularly brand-specific. There are plenty of items where I’m picky about buying a brand name over a generic – peanut butter, toilet paper, soda, laundry soap, etc. – but I really don’t differentiate much between the higher-quality brands. Similarly, there are items where I buy the store/generic brand because I don’t care and they’re cheaper – paper plates, tuna fish, vegetable oil, glass cleaner – but I certainly wouldn’t object to using the brand-name versions if they were sold for an equal or lower price.

Still, there has to be something. Guess I’ll just keep thinking.

Hellmann’s mayonnaise, Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.

Northern Bath Tissue

Irish Spring Soap

Folger’s Coffee

Hellmann’s Mayonnaise

Ballpark Hot Dogs

Velveeta (for melty cheese)

Kraft Cheese Spread (the kind in the small jars - for making cheeseball)

When it comes to Mac and Cheese or Shells and Cheese, I don’t have to have Kraft, but I do have to have the kind with the cheese packet that is oozy - not the powdered kind, and the store brands are usually pretty good. When it comes to frozen mac and cheese, though, it MUST be President’s Choice Frozen Mac and Cheese. Which I used to be able to get at Jewel, but I haven’t been there in awhile so maybe I can’t anymore.

Marlboro Box cigarettes.

Old Style beer.

Oh, definitely Velveeta. I’ve tried the other imitators, and they don’t come close.

This could almost be my post. I buy whatever is on sale and I have a coupon for.

Oh, I guess I always buy Arm & Hammer laundry detergent. And Ivory bar soap. I don’t like the stuff with deodorants in them. “Deodorant soap” my ass. Makes me smell like a bar of soap!

My wife only drinks Nescafe coffee, so I always buy that. But I don’t drink coffee so that’s just her thing. (I bought Folger’s once. Once. Won’t make that mistake again.)

Nolan Ryan ribeyes
Glory canned vegetables
Cardini Ceasar salad dressing
Boar’s Head bleu cheese, horseradish, mustard
Louisiana tartar sauce
Lea & Perrin’s Worchestershire
Stubb’s BBQ Sauce
Texmati rice

Coca-Cola. No other cola will do. Beyond that, I can’t think of any.

Folger’s coffee - how in the world did I forget? The best part of waking up is Folger’s in my cup.

Almay deodorant

Maybelline black eyebrow pencil

Krispy Kreme doughnuts

Ken’s Buttermilk Ranch dressing

Hellmann’s mayonnaise
Heinz ketchup
Lea & Perrin’s Worchestershire
Velveeta cheese slices (for sandwiches)
Marzetti’s blue cheese dressing
Bests’ Kosher hot dogs
Van Camp’s Pork & Beans
Jay’s potato chips

Hmmm……
I know there’s more……
