Brando Look-alikes?

It’s probably more a matter of how dominant Marlon was over such a period, but there were any number of actors (from all levels of competence) who seemed (to me, at least) to have been selected based on some physical resemblance to Brando.

Here are a few examples. See if you can name others (with a photo if possible):

Don Stroud
Mark Ruffalo
Burt Reynolds

Recent pictures (especially Reynolds) don’t hold up as well as ones from 30-40 years ago! Even so, who can you think of who is closest physically (face anyway) to Brando?

(There are several websites devoted to this very issue if you need some help with your memory.)

I agree with Mark Ruffalo.

Here’s Gabriel Macht.

So…you’re saying they should be members of NAMBLA? (i.e. North American Marlon Brando Look-Alikes.)

It’s probably more a resemblance to Joe Don Baker (who I was really thinking about when I started the thread), but Klaus Maria Brandaueris close enough to include in a list, I think.

I don’t have any names to add, but Burt Reynolds practically played a Marlon Brando character in the “Twilight Zone” ep “The Bard.”

That made me think of Marlon Brando rips Burt Reynolds.

There were quite a few Brando lookalikes in 50s Hollywood, and studios tried to make their young male stars look like him.

Sal Mineo
Troy Donohue
Rip Torn

Peter Boyle.

I’d post an image, but after looking at it real hard I can’t be sure that ain’t Brando.

James Dean
Elvis Presley

Wasn’t Paul Newman promoted as being the next Brando when he was starting out?

Because its NBC it of course can’t appear on YouTube, but here’s at least the audio portion (ignore the video) of the famous ‘Dueling Brandos’ sketch featuring Peter Boyle and John Belushi…
