Brass to PVC In DWV Plumbing

I am replacing my drain in my tub. I want to go to a trip lever drain, but the Moen one I am looking at is all brass. Everything else is currently PVC slip joints. Can I just connect the brass into the PVC using the same slip joints like the PVC, or do I need to do something special at the brass to PVC joint.

Here is what I am looking at:

That needs to go into the house PVC p-trap.

PVC-to-thread couplers are a standard thing.

Whenever I find one of those lever drains in a men’s room it never seems to work properly. Either the lever’s broken or it doesn’t seal properly.

A brass and PVC slip (compression) fitting are interchangable.
