It’s Albuquerque. Humidity isn’t a problem.
Not even inside an enclosed car wash? Even so, I doubt they would bring it up or if they did it would be taken care of by a simply saying “The car wash/wet area is totally sealed off from the rest of the structure” and move on.
Maybe the upper part has offices, or living space, or maybe it contains tanks of water and chemicals.
Apparently multistory carwashes aren’t unheard of.

Just popping in here.
This moment is when I really stopped caring about the series, and stopped watching soon after. I’ve spent the last few years trying to help a friend with a drug addiction, and Walt’s rejection of the out he was given just killed any sympathy I had for him.
I never picked up on egotistical issues driving Walt to such a level, but then, I’m rather oblivious to a lot of personal quirks.
You’re not supposed to have sympathy for Walt. He’s not a good guy. Not the point of the show in the least.
Thanks for popping in to let us know though.
Walt’s an archetype of the Greek dramatic hero; his tragic flaw is an aggrieved pride attempting to correct the social and economic injustices he’s endured through the first 50 years of his life.
He’s definitely not a good guy, but like all Greek heroes he does elicit a certain sympathy from the audience.
Walt’s definitely something of an antihero, and frankly I’m rooting for Jesse from here on out (although I’m sure Walt will have some kind of moment of redemption before the end too).
I was thinking the same thing. That little incident was very important.

I suppose, if you’re into that sort of thing.![]()
Or as we would say about the Soprano crew, of bad guys, Walt is the good guy. Instead of just lumping all the meth associated people into one group and calling them the bad guys, you have to immerse yourself into their world, ignore everything else and then figure out who the good guys and bad guys are. The only time (that I can think of off the top of my head) they’ve ever brought the outside world into the show is when Jane died and Walt bumped into her dad at a bar.
I’m surprised (but pleased) because I for some reason had the idea in my head that they’d already said this season would be the final one. Don’t know where I got that notion from.
Man, that’s nothing. Check out the old BSG threads where you have people talking about Balther, Balter, Balthar etc, over and over. IT’S BALTAR YOU TWITS! JUST FUCKING CALL HIM GAIUS IF YOU CAN’T GET IT RIGHT!
Sorry, it’s been years since the show was even on and it still ticks me off for some reason. I’ll try to remember it’s Skyler, and apologize if I’ve ever said Skylar.
Skylar - It’s Mylar for Aviation Applications!
Don’t get too excited. I read in the paper today that they are likely to stretch that 16 eps out over several years, a la Mad Men. Production values are running up the bills, apparently, so there may not be a BB next year, but rather an abbreviated season in 2013 and another in 2014, or some variation thereof. Major suckage, if that’s the plan.
Ugh, please no. With all the shoutouts to events from episodes I saw years ago, I’m already straining to remember people (ex: Bogdan) and events (ex: Elliott and Gretchen)
Y’know, (show creator) Vince Gilligan is so clever, so tuned in to avoiding cliches and surprising us, that I bet Mike’s cough turns out to be no more than the occasional unnoteable cough you or I give on any unremarkable day - just because he knows there are so many forensic viewers like us that are dissecting every nuance of every episode. I hope that’s what it is - it makes me admire him even more!
I’m surprised no one has found any dirt on the ballooning of Anna Gunn. A show this closely analyzed should’ve turned up something by now…
IIRC she also had a big mark of some kind on her arm (bug bite, zit, birthmark). Something that makeup could have covered up in about 10 seconds (if it’s hers…or was it added before the shoot), but they chose to show it pretty openly…If we’re going to analyze a cough, should we be worried about a spot on her arm?
Has anyone heard the specific reasons the show is only getting one more (extended) season? When I read Vince Gilligan’s remarks he talked about how he was really happy as a story teller to know the timeframe for when he has to have it all wrapped up, so that says to me it wasn’t part of the creators plans necessarily.
The show has won several Emmy awards and I’m sure it’s making money for AMC, so what’s the reason they want to end it?
Note I’m not saying that it’s bad to end it, something I think American TV is really unfortunate at is never letting a show end until it has reached the point of unwatchability, most of my favorite shows tend to have been premium-TV shows that went on for a few seasons before the cast moved on to other things or the story arc just came to its natural conclusion. Even relatively good shows on major networks or cable stations usually get ran out to the point of being unwatchable (ex. I liked Monk at one point, but was shocked when it was finally off the air because I hadn’t watched an episode in 4 years.)
Yeah and it’s also costing them a lot of money. Big, popular shows demand huge budgets, and the net result isn’t always as profitable as people think. It’s all about the margins, not the gross.
