Breaking Bad 5.12 "Rabid Dog" 9/1/13

Is it me or did the bald guy dude standing there in the square at first looked like Mike? Jesse focussing a second time and he clearly wasn’t.

We’ve seen a lot of evil bald guys with goatees on this show. They played with that deliberately.

My guess is that Jesse is bright enough to recognize that the way to get at Walt is to attack his pride. Not sure exactly what he has in mind.

The most chilling scenes for me of the season so far were Skyler advocating for the “rabid dog” treatment of Jesse, and at the end with Walt calling Todd and telling him that he might have another job for Todd’s uncle, seeing him finally decide that his best course of action is to eliminate Jesse. That’s been, in my opinion, the one thing standing between Walt and Heisenberg over the past few episodes, his unwillingness to kill someone close to him. That might have been as big a moment in the series as the scene where he lets Jane die.

She is far more in this now than Carmela Soprano ever was. That was a Lady Macbeth scene if ever there was one. I wonder if she’ll go mad.

Yeah, I had that same thought.

That’s been the case since she started laundering his money in season three, although urging Walt to kill Jesse is different from being aware that Walt had killed people or handling his money. By mutual consent Carmela never knew any specifics about Tony’s mob life.

What’s the significance of Walt insisting that the house have the same locks? How hard is it to give Skyler and Junior new keys?

Looking forward to whatever Jesse has planned, but I can’t imagine what it might be.

Well she never urged Tony to kill anyone, but she pull an assist every once in awhile, like getting Olivia out of the retirement home so Tony could stash some guns. And she knew it more than her baking a riccotta pie to intimate to get her way.

Walt didn’t want Skyler to know they’d been attacked

I think at that point Walt thought he could get the gas smell out of the house, so Skyler wouldn’t know what happened.

Right, but she never knew any specifics about what he was doing and never helped him run any kind of scheme. Carmela was in the dark by choice. Skyler is by any definition a criminal and she has been since she started laundering Walt’s money.

I was thinking either his pride or his ego. I don’t think he’d go for family. Hank wouldn’t allow using that type of leverage.

Jesse was pretty specific: he said he’s going to hit Walt where he really lives.

Have they ever before opened by just continuing the story where it left off before? Or was this the first time?

The way to get at Walt’s pride is for Jesse to contact Lydia and start cooking again … as good of blue stuff as Walt ever made. His ego is where he really lives.

My take on the scary bald guy was that Walt had set him there to get Jesse to move the meet point to a more private location and away from where Walt had suspected might be being watched. I was wrong and will likely be wrong about Jesse cooking again too.

When we talk about Sopranos, she reminds me more of Janice then Carmela or at least a little of both.
But in her “We’ve come so far only to let this get in our way” scene, it reminded me of Tony Montana. At least in the ‘say hello to my little friend’ scene. That is, if we’re gonna go down, we’re gonna go down fighting.

They do it a lot. “Buried” picked up where “Blood Money” left off (with Walt leaving Hank’s garage).

:smack: Of course.

I wonder if Jesse knows the whereabouts of Todd’s lab.

Where does Walt really live? It calls to mind pride.

[li]Grey Matter? Jesse knows about it, but nah, those are more his rivals than his triumph.[/li][li]Walt Jr.? Hank wouldn’t go for it. Even going after the kiddos above board via CPS would require Hank laying out too many cards on the table.[/li][li]The Blue? Maybe, but I don’t get how they could go after it. Walt was fine with the blue quickly turning into substandard shit.[/li][li]The money aka Ozymandias’ legs - it would be some damn reveal for Jesse to be able to plausibly track it down.[/li][/ul]

Jesse.
