Breaking Bad 5.12 "Rabid Dog" 9/1/13

It wouldn’t really matter: if the DEA sees Walt’s confession Hank is off this case even if he is ultimately cleared. Hank is not thinking about his career. He’s thinking about getting Walt. If the DEA is trying to figure out if Hank is Heisenberg - no matter how obvious the truth is - he won’t be the one to bring Walt down. Dean Norris made that point in an interview (I forget if it was linked in this thread or the last one) and I thought it was a good one.

This episode, Hank looked almost happy. Hey, things might be going to hell in a handbag if you look at the big picture, but at least he’s out there chasing Heisenberg again. Sure beats going to budget meetings.

OK, my prediction for the ending: Hank finds Walt’s lottery ticket and figures out the connection to the money, then goes and digs it up. He leaves the DEA and becomes the costumed vigilante Hank-man, with Jesse as his sidekick. He spends the millions on high-tech surveillance gear that he stashes in his man-cave in his garage, and hires Gomez as his butler. The final scene is the showdown between Hank and Walt (who has now become 100% Heisenberg and lost his mind after his whole family has been killed by the Nazi gang). Hank gets the last line in the series as he’s about to capture Walt: “I think you and I are destined to do this forever.” Credits.

Yeah, I was wondering about that myself. Suicide mission. Instead of a White Star, it’s an M60.

Just my guess: prank calls, teamed with an increasingly animated “stop hitting yourself” assault involving Beaver and the skinny one.

I learned it by watching you!

“NO! MARIE NO!!! You were my rock”

“God damnit, Hank” :cough: “I was your mineral.” :dies:

I wish there was a like button! I bet some of those minerals he collects are radioactive and give him superpowers too!
The more I think about the end I see a few things playing out…

Walt has ordered a hit on Jesse, but Jesse is in Hanks custody. So if the Aryan’s make an attempt I could see Jesse getting away (the needs of the story demand this) but I could see Hank getting killed or very badly wounded again in the process. If this happens Marie will LOSE HER SHIT and go after Walt to kill him directly. Would Skyler kill Marie to protect Walt?

Walter Junior’s secret is that he’s been faking his disability for years. It got better when he was 12, but he liked the attention.

This is the toxin Marie mentioned, by the way. It’s found in shellfish.

Remember the first time Walt attempted to use Ricin he put it in Tuco’s eggs. If Marie parallels that part of the story she might try to poison eggs too. Who else on this show eats eggs hmmmmmm???

Well, I always did think of Marie as shellfish bitch. It’s about time she clammed up.

Exactly. The flash forward Walt doesn’t strike me as someone out for revenge or trying to free his family from gangsters or reclaim his throne or anything like that. He strikes me as the same, pathetic Walt we’ve always known, who has lost everything and is desperate not to just be forgotten as some sad sack nobody. He doesn’t care about getting away if it means nobody knows who he is. He’d rather be a “Disturbed Local Teacher Kills Seven in Shopping Center Rampage” headline than live out the rest of his life in obscurity.

Mineral Man!

Wow, that’s really good writing!

That’d be pedestrian for Walt, who is always convinced of his own brilliance, and it doesn’t make much sense either. If he wanted to just kill a bunch of random people he could’ve bought a gun legally in New Hampshire and done it there. Instead he drove all the way back to Albuquerque in a rush, bought an M60, and got the ricin from his house. He has a plan, however doomed it may be.

Her and her Big Anime Eyes. Creepy.

At some point he has to catch on to the fact that things aren’t exactly A-okay between the Whites and the Schraders.

Sure. But without some outside knowledge he’d never think it’s because his father is a murderous drug manufacturer and his uncle is trying to bring him down. That’s very much in “think zebras” territory.

Well, to be fair, I’m a B5 nut. A friend of mine worked on the show so I was watching (and rewatching) from the beginning.

I dont remember if Hank looked at Jesse’s confession, if he didn’t then imagine if Jesse framed Hank for running a drug empire (like Walt does)
Even though that might be a bit of a cop out if that actually happened I’d go from the last episode laughing and grinning

Hank and Gomie watched the confession and talked about what Jesse said afterward. But for a minute there I did imagine Jesse confessing that Hank was Heisenberg- followed by Hank shouting “Why you little!” and strangling Jesse.
