Breaking Bad - 5/17 = "Mandala" - OPEN SPOILERS

A-HA! Thanks. That’s been bugging me all season.

Rubystreak, yeah, I think it’s gonna get ugly. Jessie on his own (and before he discovered Jane and heroin) was a reasonable guy, but he’s so easily influenced. Walt’s been wanting to dump him, and now he has an excuse.

Jessie getting high reminded me of that guy getting high on vampire blood in that show on HBO that I can’t recall the name of at the moment.

It reminded me of Trainspotting.

::Joey rewatches that scene to prove Lakai wrong::
Why yes, yes he does. I have no idea where I came up with the bald/glasses thing. So, never mind on that theory.

Sometimes, for a lot less. My dad got hungry and headed out to a diner to get an early A.M. sandwich – and missed my belated arrival!

I knew who the kingpin was because I recognised the actor from The Usual Suspects, Bob Roberts and other movies. No way was he just playing a random fast food manager.

I get the same sometimes on Law and Order or CSI. If a initial witness etc. is a well known actor then they are the perp.

I really like the way this show is going. Ramping up to a new level. I can see the kingpin being very visious and dangerous in a controlled way rather than the almost random Tuco. This does not bode well concidering he has already voiced his objection to Jessie and poor old jessie is only going to get worse now that he’s started heroin.

How many eps are left in this season? I’m dying to know who’s in those body bags. I really hope it’s not members of Walt’s family, and we know it can’t be Walt. I find it hard to believe that Jesse and Jane would be at Walt’s house, so it’s unlikely to be them, since I doubt they’d kill off Jesse, and why would Jane be there with someone else?

Would they really kill off Walt’s family? That would harm the dramatic tension of the show, because then, there would be no double life for Walt, no reason not to throw himself into Heisenberg totally, which I think would be less interesting than what we have now. Basically, what I’m saying is, I have no idea who they might kill off in the season finale, which is great, but the suspense is getting to me. Anyone else care to speculate with me?

True Blood. Me too. I expected Jane to come floating up with him.

Rubystreak, I think there are two episodes left.

Speculating on the body bags – no idea. They haven’t even given us a clue. Maybe Jane’s in one of them, but I have no basis for thinking that, except that I don’t know what the writers would do with her in another season. She’s served her purpose.

Expect the unexpected. If its one thing this show has proven is its unpredictability.

But, I’m with you Rubystreak. They just can’t kill off any of Walt’s immediate family. I’m thinking if anything, it might have been a sting, or shoot out between the rival thugs… whatever?

Hope it’s not Hank in one of those bags. But it could be a couple members of the DEA. It could be an all out trick of story telling as far as I’m concerned, something to lead us to believe it has something to do with the Meth, but might be something else. Which would kind of be a relief… I’m actually dreading that ending.

But I don’t see how that’s possible. We know the DEA is collecting evidence at Walt’s home, including Walt’s glasses. Something explosive happened. His car is all shot up. And there are 2 dead bodies.

I’m guessing Walt grabbed Skylar and Walt Jr., and fled. He’ll have to fess up now.

Let’s not forget about Walt Jr and the tequila. It seemed so random, they way they showed him drinking, puking in the pool and then being proud of himself and that was it, never brought it up again. I have to wonder if it’s foreshadowing something. I wonder if he’ll have some friends over for a drinking party and either he and someone else, or two other people wind up drowning.

But how would that explain all the other mayhem that’s been foreshadowed in black and white? Wasn’t that pink teddy-bear (with the missing eye), floating in the pool, partially burnt? And Walt Sr’s messed up car. And the DEA stacking evidence… Hmmm.

Did all that mayhem happen at Walt’s place? Could there have been two mayhem sites? I’ve only seen that preview once and it went by so quickly, it wasn’t easy to tell.

What we saw in the preview:

Burned teddy bear
Walt’s car trashed
Two body bags
People in hazmat suits

What else?

Could it be two separate events? One with the meth lab and another where Walt’s water heater blows up?

If we’re talking about things we’ve seen in the flash forwards:

Walt’s glasses, broken.

An eyeball floating in the pool.

It wouldn’t be the water heater blowing up since he put in a tankless. Maybe the house collapsing with all the structural work he did to it?
Maybe Walt Jr…wait, remember how hurky jurky Walt Jr was trying to drive. Do you think he wound up smashing the car, maybe driving it into the pool, was alcohol involved? Hazmat suits could be involved if any sort of Chlorine storage got hit during the accident.

And speaking of spoilers, Jesse’s actor, Aaron Paul, said in a recent interview (nothing specific or really spoilery, but I’ll spoil it just in case:

The gist of it, basically: they’re ending the season on several cliff-hangers and he expects the viewers to be upset. Upset about the resolution or lack thereof, he doesn’t really specify.

And to clarify my previous post:

It’s actually the teddy bear’s eye. My memory of it was pretty vague, so I re-watched the beginning of the first episode of the second season.

Well, at least the show was renewed for a third season, so even if there is a cliffhanger it will eventually be resolved.

I thought Jane’s story was boring and Skyler’s story was cliche ridden. Now Jane is getting more interesting. I hope Skyler’s story isn’t headed straight to Predictaville. A lot of stories that try to avoid going to Predictaville end up in Implausaville, though.

I can’t believe that Hal from Malcolm in the Middle is the same guy. I can’t even see the physical resemblance anymore. Walt is the best anti-hero since Vic Mackey.

Last sundays episode was the first full one I watched so I don’t know about all the things he done, but he doesn’t look like an anti-hero to me. He loves his family and treats meth “like the high margin commodity that it is”. Not like he ever planned to and murdered a partner in cold blood.

Maybe Jane is going to rat Walt out to the DEA? Not sure why that would lead to his house getting blown up. Or she’ll talk to a rival gang, who is going to blow up his house? That doesn’t shed any light on who’s in the body bags, though.

Yea, about that…

Oh, I see. Off to hulu I go then.
