Some of it already happens. Many pro basketball players marry tall, athletic mates; it’s safe to assume a crop of taller, more nimble children are now growing up. Other sports stars marry musicians and models. Their children will probably be quick-reacting singers with very attractive body parts.
On the other hand, some pretty, empty-headed entertainers are breeding with other pretty, dimbulb entertainers; their children might set new standards for dimwadness. They’ll be lovely, but their boots will have instructions written on the heels.
They’ve got something like this in Annapolis, MD, the home of the U.S. Naval Academy. Here are the evolutionary pressures:
(1) The USNA is run by senior and/or retired naval officers.
(2) Most senior officers are married with children.
(3) When requesting assignment to the Academy, it helps if you graduated from there.
(4) Many USNA graduates find their wives while they’re at the Academy.
So, you get generations of young officers marrying older officers’ daughters and/or the prettiest local girls (and because so many local girls go husband hunting in Annapolis, the boys really do get their pick). I can’t prove anything for sure, but spend a weekend in that town and you’ll know it’s true – the town’s gene pool is breeding future officers and pretty officers’ wives. All the men are right around six feet tall; all the women are slim and just a little curvy. It’s astonishing to see!
