Brett Favre; Ted DiBiase Sr. and Jr. sued by Mississippi for welfare misspending

The Mississippi Department of Human Services is suing former NFL quarterback Brett Favre, former pro wrestlers “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase and his son Ted DiBiase Jr., and several other people for squandering millions of dollars from the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program.

The state auditor has called it Mississippi’s largest public corruption case in the past 20 years.

Favre has not been charged with any criminal wrongdoing; however, Brett DiBiase, Ted Sr.'s son, has pleaded guilty to one count of making a false statement.

Wow.

Republicans misusing public funds; whoda thunk it?

That’s just not fair to Brett Favre!

He really meant to get that money to needy families. It’s just that he had a problem with his aim, and it was intercepted by others. (That’s been a problem for Brett for most of his professional life.)

I know just the guy to handle the case against the DiBiases…

Is that Irwin R. Shyster? It’s been years since I saw him wrestle.

Otherwise known as “I.R.S.”, as Howard Finkel would say.

And DON’T forget to pay your taxes!

Retired NFL quarterback Brett Favre has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, he told a congressional committee Tuesday. Favre made the disclosure as part of his testimony about a welfare misspending scandal in Mississippi. Favre, who does not face criminal charges, has repaid just over $1 million in speaking fees funded by a welfare program in the state and was also an investor in a biotech company with ties to the case. The biotech firm has said it was developing concussion treatments.

The former football star, 54, told the committee that he lost his investment in the company that he thought “was developing a breakthrough concussion drug I thought would help others.”

“As I’m sure you’ll understand, while it’s too late for me — I’ve recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s — this is also a cause dear to my heart,” Favre said.

Since he and The Million Dollar Man (Ted Sr.) made up the tag team of “Money, Inc.”–which was formed as part of Jimmy Hart betraying tag team of Hurricane and Typhoon, known as “The Natural Disasters”–having him turn on his partner because of fraud would have made an interesting kayfabe heel-to-face story.
