Bridesmaids with tattoos

I go to a lot of weddings and I am always on the bride’s side, so I see the backs of all the bridesmaids with the strapless dresses. There is nothing that looks so bad or stupid as a tatoo showing with a strapless dress.

Why are they always green? Are others colors more expensive? Impossible? All turn to green over time?

A lot of dermatologists are going to get rich removing tatoos in the future.

Personally, I don’t do things that hurt and I don’t eat things that taste bad. That’s why I won’t eat broccoli. There will be a study that comes out that proves it causes something heinous disease.

Well, clearly I need to find something else to do.

No, no, the things that taste bad are good for you. The things that taste good are bad for you. Further proof that God hates us.

I’m about to be a bridesmaid, and I’m trying desperately to find a decent cover-up. I have a tattoo which I love, and in no way regret getting, but it’s smack in the middle of where my necklace falls on the front of my chest, and I find it distracting. The bride and the rest of the party are fine with it, but I just feel like I’ll be self-conscious all night.

In answer to the green question: Green shows up very well, and resists fading pretty well. Yellow and pink fade away pretty quickly. Blacks turn to grey. Blues get duller. But most greens seem to stick pretty well. Light colors, like pale yellow or white (yes, there’s white tattoo ink, usually used for highlighting) take more going over than dark to show up, so they’re more painful.

YOU find it distracting? So, do you have huge boobs or something that you’re always staring down at and being distrated by your own tattoo? If so, please post a pic.

It’s not a pentagram is it? The minster might get all freaky and interrupt the marriage for an exorcism.

 Actually, I do see out of just the bottom of my field of vision when I look down, but no. I meant the idea of it, and all the bride’s old-school Italian family, and the stupid necklace that hits in just the right place. I don’t find it distracting under normal circumstances.

The minister was actually a guest at the handfasting I performed for the couple last year, and she loved it. I didn’t wear a pentacle, but there was a large one on the altar! She’s also the groom’s mom, and a very cool Episcopalian Priest. (We joke that she’s the Episcopalian, I’m the Episco-pagan! We both love ritual and incense, but not so much men telling us what to do. :stuck_out_tongue: )

The tattoo is a symbol my own design, signifinying my personal path and commitment to supporting Truth in all religions. It’s a crescent moon with a star (moon=pagan, moon and star=Islam), but the star is a cross instead of a pentacle (cross=Christian), This year, I want to add a Hebrew Chai and an Om, but I’m trying to do it without getting visually cluttered.

Note to self:
Satanic symbols at Ohio wedding. Bish carries state. Tattooed cleavage, on growth track. Coincidence?

There are make-ups that will cover port-wine stain birthmarks

Along the lines of picunurse’s suggestion (but more expensive); most bridal magazines have directories in the back that advertise tattoo covering kits and/or services.
