I think the purpose of this thread isn’t just to list the end points, but describe the path. At least, that’s the more interesting way to take this. Explain to us how you make that bridge.
You’re right, the thread was inspired by this post.
Here’s my attempt: John Matrix, a former United States Army Colonel who served in Vietnam with George Dillon, helped overthrow the dictator of the Central American banana republic of Val Verde. The dictator, Arius, kidnaps his daughter to force him to assassinate the new leader and reinstall Arius. Instead, Matrix takes out Arius and Bennett, but fearing blowback caused by his scorched earth methods, he changes his identity to Alan “Dutch” Schaefer, but has to start over. He climbs back up to the rank of Major and makes it into Delta Force when he rejoins his buddy Dillon on a hostage rescue mission in Val Verde that goes horribly wrong. Nearly losing his sanity, his fragile psyche cooks up yet another identity, John Kimble and a new life as a police detective. He goes undercover on an assignment in a kindergarden in order to pursue a drug dealer, but his horrifying experiences with kindergardeners shatters his fragile mental state and he conjures up yet another personality: Jack Slater, a mentally unbalanced person who believes he is a fictional action hero.
An oldie but an ultimate example: Fess Parker from miniseries and movies early American buckskin clad mountaineer and adventurer Davy Crockett to Fess Parker in the hit TV series about early American buckskin clad mountaineer and adventurer Daniel Boone.
