I LOVED this band as a depressed, angsty teenager. I started listening to him again a few weeks ago (as a less depressed, more mature adult) and discovered that his lyrics and inflection are still amazing. He is matched only by Leonard Cohen (in my opinion) w.r.t his musical poetry.
I’m not very good at explaining why I love his music so much, so that’s why I started this thread, to nod along to everyone else’s praise 
But I will say that, emo as he is, his songs just speak to me (sorry, like I said, not very articulate with this topic) and manage to encapsulate such a huge range of emotions/experiences with so few words.
