Bring out the gimp? (Pulp Fiction spoilers)

This is one of those films that you see something new every time you watch

Actually, I like most of his movies, including “Pulp Fiction.” It’s just that when I saw the trailers for “Resevoir Dogs”–a bunch of guys in matching black suits, pointing handguns at each other–I could only think: “This guy must have some kind of performance complex, and a really pathetic urge to be ‘cool’.” It didn’t help that I had to sit through all of “From Dusk to Dawn.” I refused to pay the $7.50 (or whatever it was back then) to see “Resevoir Dogs,” but eventually I saw it. Tarantino has put out some nice movies, but they always seem to be despite himself. He’s okay, but really overrated.

Oh, and movies really are just “super.” What else would they be?

I felt that way about him until Kill Bill, which struck me as Tarantino winking at the camera and masturbating for 2 hours to the thought of how incredibly cool and clever he is. Twice.

I really think he peaked with Jackie Brown. That, to me is his best work and everything he’s done since has been downhill.

OK, I watched the scene this morning and the dialog in the background is this,

(.?.=something I couldn’t make out)
All the same male voice, given the dialog he’s the croupier.
They’re playing Baccarat Chemin de Fer, (notice the croupier doesn’t call for the shoe to be passed after the bank wins).

In that vein,

this is what is seen on Mr. Wolfs notepad,

(.?.=something I couldn’t make out)
No Dean Martin

CMC fnord!

Thirded. Marcellus sends the Wolf over to be the adult when his (Marcellus) underlings get in over their heads. Note how a jumpy Jules calms right down when he hears the Wolf is coming over. Wolf inspires confidence that things will work out OK.
