Heheh, and that’s just in four months! Not bad for a band that basically does instrumentals.
God, when that video exploded copies of their album shot up to $500 for a copy. Then they’ve reprinted it multiple times since so sucks to be the guy who paid $500.
I looked briefly at the Billboard top 100 but since I don’t listen to that, I’m not at all qualified to guess who has the most awesome chord progression or harmonies.

Painfully accurate, this.
I wouldn’t disagree with the OP about much recent music, but there’s certainly a lot of reason to have hope. Many of my favorite artists and albums came from 1976 - 1978, which was smack dab in the middle of “the disco era.” A pessimist would have said, “Rock is dead and disco sucks!” Instead, we got everything from Dire Straits to Meat Loaf to Elvis Costello to Boston to The Cars…just to name a few.
A few years ago I came up with my favorite songs. There are somewhere between 1,500 and 2,000. I have a ratings system. I checked and for my top 12 years, which includes 1974, it turns out 1974 came out at the bottom.
