Or the kid’s stepfather, or dad’s brother. I totally agree with you. Many people really do think that “nice normal people” can’t be child predators and refuse to believe it when the evidence is right in front of them. Someone can be very pleasant to adults and a child abuser nonetheless.
Just look at how a lot of people reacted to the Penn State scandal over here. “But…but…Joe Paterno was really good at football coaching! How could anyone who’s that good at football coaching be an evil enabler of child rape?”
Yeah, I’m fed up with people jumping to conclusions like that. Thisguy had exactly the same problem.
Park Dietz, to be fair, apparently was not referring to the usual run of child molester but the stranger abductor/killer personality.
On the other hand Dietz has had a mixed record as a criminal profiler, so it would be of interest to know how many others in his profession agree with this characterization.

Oh, lighten up. Yes, obviously sexual predators can look like anyone. I was just amused that this guy looks like a sexual predator right out of central casting, and yet he’s apparently been on TV in Britain for decades and everyone appears to be just totally shocked that he turned out to be a pervert!
