Shocked, shocked I say!
I don’t have children - but if I did, I wouldn’t have let that guy get within 100 yards of them.
That’s pretty funny and everything, but for realsies, one probably shouldn’t judge people’s dispositions based solely on their looks. And all that.

Just to elaborate - after a long career on TV at the BBC, apparently involving all sorts of charity work with children, Jimmy Savile died last year at age 84. A few months after his death, a report was aired on British TV documenting numerous accusations of child abuse.
It is a huge scandal, blah blah blah. I am not British, but I see occasional reports of this story, and I get the sense that the British are genuinely surprised about this.
When I first saw the story, I googled for pictures of him, and was astounded. People really left their kids alone with this guy? I mean, he looks like a caricature of a creepy weirdo.
Guy seems pretty serious to me. A lot of people unfortunately think like this. That’s why most actual child molestation is usually done by someone people trust. Pedophiles, in people’s minds, look creepy in a certain way. They’re always surprised when it turns out to be that daycare worker or teacher or even best friend.

To give a British perspective on this, among the people I know no-one is surprised by Savile’s noncey-ness. The rumours have been doing the rounds for years and he has long been considered a wierdo.
The surprise is more about the degree to which his wierdness was tolerated and indulged and how come those rumours never made it to the point of real news exposures.

I swear to god, there was an article in a real newspaper a few weeks ago where an expert of some sort (possibly self-appointed) declared that child abductors are slovenly and gap-toothed. It was in relation to that girl who was murdered near Denver and how to spot the suspect.
And a former government minister publicly calling one victim of child abuse a “weirdo”.
And they wonder why people don’t come forward more often 
This ‘eccentric kook’ has been exposing Savile for years.
I’m not shocked. I always suspected him.
To be fair, Mr Ike has been outing not just Mr Savile, but Al Gore, Kris Kristoffesen and the Queen as 12 foot high lizards from the planet Zog for a very long time.

You can tell if someone is a sexual predator just from pictures? Wow. You should contact the FBI right now. Maybe even James Randi.

Shrug, he looks like there’s a Marty Feldman somewhere in his family tree. None of the people who’ve ever tried to molest me looked particularly weird. The guy who groped me in the airport bus yesterday while holding hands with his gf/wife (his other hand; I wasn’t holding hands with anybody) was over-prettified but in a way that’s very common for Seville, I just figured he must have been from there (the groping didn’t last long, I slapped his hand away saying “that’s ME!”, he said “oops”, the blonde didn’t even bat a lash).

If that guy lived anywhere near me, I would make it clear to my son that he is absolutely fobidden to be alone with him, under any circumstances whatsover.
Jimmy Savile really does look like the very caricature of a creepy wierdo. He easily out-creeps Robin Williams, which is no small feat.
